Berlin Startup Talon.One Sold for €750 Million

Berlin-based loyalty and promotions platform Talon.One is being acquired by Dutch payments giant Adyen for €750 million. According to the company's press release, the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026.
Founded in 2015 by Christoph Gerber and Sebastian Haas, Talon.One provides enterprise software for loyalty programs, personalized promotions, and coupon management. More than 300 global merchants use the platform, including brands like Nordstrom and H&M. The company is on track to hit around €60 million in annual recurring revenue by end of 2026, with growth running at 30-40% per year in recent years.
For Adyen, the acquisition is a strategic move to extend its unified commerce vision. By combining its global payments infrastructure with Talon.One's real-time decisioning capabilities, merchants can recognize shoppers and apply tailored offers instantly at checkout, both online and in-store. "A merchant can recognize a shopper and apply a relevant offer instantly, before the payment is completed," said Adyen Co-CEO Ingo Uytdehaage, as cited in the press release.
Interestingly, the idea for Talon.One was born out of a real operational headache: co-founder Gerber previously helped build Lieferando and saw firsthand how messy managing promotions could get. That pain point turned into a platform now competing with giants like Salesforce.
Gerber is also a repeat success story. Back in 2014, he sold Lieferando for an estimated €63 million. This time, the stakes are a whole lot higher.
