Synthesia Opens Berlin Office in €25m Expansion

---
AI video platform Synthesia is expanding its European presence with a new Berlin office, part of a €25m+ investment in new hubs across Europe and the US.
According to the company's press release, Synthesia plans to grow its workforce by more than 70% in 2026, adding over 400 roles to its existing team of 600+ employees. Berlin will serve as a key hub for go-to-market and customer success functions, focused on the DACH region, which ranks as the company's third-largest market globally by annual recurring revenue.
The numbers behind the expansion are striking. Following a $200m Series E funding round in January 2026, led by Google Ventures, Synthesia is now valued at $4bn. The company has tripled enterprise contracts worth over $100k in the past year and expects to reach $200m in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026.
Synthesia's platform lets businesses create AI-powered videos with digital avatars for training, onboarding and internal communications. It counts 95% of DAX 40 companies among its clients, including SAP and Merck KGaA, making Germany one of its most important markets.
Laura Gonzalez, Chief of Staff and Head of People at Synthesia, said the expansion is about building teams closer to both customers and local talent pools. Berlin's tech talent base and proximity to key European markets made it a natural choice.
Beyond Berlin, new offices are also opening in Austin and Paris, with an expanded presence in Zurich. Together, these moves signal that AI video is moving firmly into the enterprise mainstream.
